Carl William's Bio

Carl Williams has been writing, creating and producing television in Denmark for 10 years. He has performed Stand-up Comedy all over Denmark, been a radio & TV show host, had his own comedy-nightclub for 4 years and since 1995 onwards, has been creating and producing digital cross-platform concepts for national and international customers.

The son of a Major in the British Army Carl Williams was raised in Germany,
Malta, UK and Denmark.

Originally an IBM computer systems programmer, Carl held a number of
positions in the IT business, including Product Manager for terminal systems
with Ericsson.

Carl Williams worked for Nordisk Film & TV for four years. The first year at
Nordisk Film & TV was spent writing, producing, editing and acting in over
30 short funny sketches for Denmark's most popular TV quiz show "Skyscraper".

Then Carl worked for the Format Development Department on numerous
projects and programmes. The last two years was spent in the Interactive TV
Department which he became head of in 1999, having headed up a joint venture
with The Swedish State Broadcaster on the co-development of the first fully
interactive, cross platform television quiz show. Carl was on numerous
committees, amongst others the Egmont digital strategy committee and the
Egmont Telco strategy committee.

Having worked with Agency.com ITV on numerous projects during his time with
Nordisk Film, it was a natural move to accept a position as Director of
Interactive Entertainment at Agency.com where he started in January 2000.
His focus at Agency.com was developing ITV and cross-platform concepts,
primarily for international customers. Among his achievements are creating
an IP based broadband ITV portal for Ericsson in Stockholm, numerous
enhanced TV formats including the international format "ID" currently
broadcasting in 5 countries and working on the creation of generic tools for
enhanced TV and interactive advertising.

Today Carl Williams works for Strand Consult as Media Vice President,
putting his mixture of knowledge from the IT, entertainment, media business
and cross platform development into use, helping media companies understand
and maximise the emerging opportunities on the mobile services markets.

During the past five years Carl Williams has been a valued speaker at
Interactive TV, Broadband and Mobile conferences all over Europe.
